Barbara is an animal training and behavior consultant specializing in avian, exotics and zoo animal training. She lectures and consults worldwide working with zoos, universities, veterinary professionals, pet owners and conservation projects. She has worked with over 80 facilities in 27 countries. She is an adjunct clinical instructor at Texas A & M University. She has produced numerous videos, authored two books and guest edited and contributed to four veterinary text books.
An experienced teacher...
Barbara started her career as a zookeeper and is still primarily focused on the zoological community with much of her work focusing on training animals to cooperate in medical care, solving complex behavior problems, making day to day care easy and developing caregivers training skills. Her degree is in Zoology from the University of California at Davis. Barbara is thrilled to have had the opportunity to train thousands of animals, from rabbits to rhinos. She is passionate about teaching excellent practical application training skills. Her goal is to leave behind a legacy of kindness to animals by sharing her expertise.
