It was great to be back with videos and discussion on a topic that is definitely not crystal clear and not without controversy. We hear the words systematic desensitization used a lot in reference to animal training. A closer look at the learning processes involved brought some insights into what an animal might be experiencing. This led to further discussions as to what exactly does systematic desensitization look like when applied in animal training. Finally, our conversation turned to our options when it comes to addressing fear responses, the emotional behavior, and emotions involved with responses to aversive stimuli. I have a feeling we will be revisiting this topic. I hope you enjoy the replay of our first discussion.
